Small , crowded and non-helpful staff

Posted by Nurse1 on 4/5/2009

It is local but the equipment is always breaking and when reported to the manager, who is more interested in the male clients, he does nothing! They will take your money though! Forget reporting problems with equipment. It won't get fixed. Also, if you choose to leave and visit another Anytime Fitness (which by the way there are alot better ones and cleaner)location, you will get locked out because if you choose to move your membership to another Anytime fitness location, you CAN NOT continue to go to this one ! They don't explain that in the "rules". Although, they say workout anytime anywhere ! If you want to sign up with AnyTime Fitness, I would HIGHLY recommend another location than Schertz location on 3009. If you don't believe me, visit the Stone Oak location ! Much more superior, cleaner, equipment never broken and the staff is outstanding !!!

lesser evil of most gyms

Posted by txnative on 1/19/2009

This gym is convenient because you can access it with a key card anytime you want. I've been a member of the gym for almost a year and they keep cramming more and more equipment in there. Anyone, athlete or not, can achieve their goals there. The staff is only helpful only when they can get more money out of you. There is an overweight manager, who does spend quit a bit of time watching television, or talking about football to the male clients. He usually turns the volume all the way up, which is annoying when your trying to workout. The free weights are in good condition, but the machines are not very efficient. The machines do most of the work for you. I met the manager once and her last name is Meyer, I think, which gives me the impression that she wrote one of the reviews. They only have one of everything. It can be to crowded to workout during peak hour. This is the cheapest gym the area.

great facility

booanytime is not talking about THIS club. There are 3 Olympic Benches and 2 showers. Equipment is state-of-art Matrix and StarTrac. The club is open 24/7/365 and is over 3,000 square feet. It's not for everyone but I've been a member of MANY different clubs around the city and it has everything I need. Great equipment, great hours and reasonable price. Works great for me!

better off buying the weights yourself

I have never really been a fan of machines, especially not here. I printed myself a 7 day pass from anytime's website because i live in a small town and anytime fitness is the only gym around, i also liked the fact that they let you in 24-7. Well when i got there my jaw dropped, my apartment is bigger than this place!!! some guy immediately started workin me over, tryin to sign me up. It was so hot in there i could only workout for like 30 min. they have one small fan which of course someone had aimed strictley at themselves. no A/C?? not 1 olympic bench press, which i've never seen not be in a gym. just one racked press which basically holds the bar up for those lazy asses and women, 1 pull-up station, basically 1 of everything, which i say is not enough. Every other gym i've been a member of has had at least 3-5 olympic free weight benches. I think this place is good for women who do minimal weight training, not men who want to get in a good workout. It offers nothing special but the fact that you could work out at 3 in the morning if you wanted. no showers, no pool, no a/c, just crappy machines. also, if you do join do not pay any 100 dollar registration fee, it;s just money in their pocket, none of which will go towards benifiting the gym. they charge you this because the statistic is that most people quit the gym after one month or so, they coun't on you not going!

small economical gym with conveniences

I've been an athlete all of my life and tried many different gyms and fitness facilities. This gym is for people who like machines, treadmills, stair masters, and free weights. Your get an access card that allows you to enter the gym during non-employee hours approx.(9-6), which is great because you have access 365247. Customer service is less than acceptable and the staff are more on the unprofessional side. Employees seem to always be watching football or playing football in the parking lot and generally don't talk to you unless they are trying to "sell you." Personal trainers look more like couch potatoes or high school students. I wouldn't recommend them. Gym has nice equipment. Staff needs a lot of growth. The gym has good equipment. My high rating is mostly for the gym and accessibility of equipment and facilities.
